The Artificial Intelligent Character Robot

Donald Dixon's Vision of Interactive Animation in the
Real World
CreatureBots / Creative Robots (aka...Donald Dixon) visions is a pioneering effort in creating and developing proprietary Artificial Intelligence and combine it with Animatronics and characterization. This solution is a unique aid to child development in education and natural interaction with applications using media technology through a personal and intelligent agent (Character robot).
CreatureBots’ brand and creative innovation of applied Robotics consists of groundbreaking Artificial Intelligence algorithms, Human-like Facial Expression and dynamic "Personality" with Emotion. The robots' English language Education Robot grows with the child at the child’s pace and becomes a part of the child’s daily routine through conversation. The Robotic solution is not just a Tutor robot with a fix "menu driven" goal to teach English. The robot is designed to become "A Buddy" and learn the child’s likes and dislikes while adapting in ways to improve the child’s English through natural communication.
CreatureBots solution is to provide a robot that is personal and engaging to help a child learn to speak English as they would with a native speaker that can become a friend.
THE PROBLEM & OPPORTUNITY

Since the 1990’s, Robotics technology has been a useful part and still is, in Industry and the use of Industrial robots are still growing. The next major challenges for robotics concern robotic applications for the home environment and for personal use. This will lead to a closer interaction between humans and robots.
The fields of service, home, and personal robots are expanding rapidly and are predicted to grow even faster in the future. There are strong indications that the Robotics Industry for the Homes is about to grow rapidly, just as the Personal Computers Industry did in the 1980’s. It is becoming more evident that sooner rather than later that robots will become a part of our everyday life and will serve humans as appliances, servants, assistants, helpers, eldercare companions, and will assist in many tasks at home, including house-keeping.
The “Personal Robot” in the home is basically the introduction of a new type of machine for Home use. The Personal Robot could be used for example for household tasks such as providing entertainment at home, meeting certain child education needs, as well as providing family pet care, child care, and elder care at home.
One of the main challenges in this new trend is people’s acceptance of robots sharing in their everyday life. This is not an insurmountable challenge. I believe this kind of new machine must be perceived as friendly, useful, and can fit in as a part of the family structure in order for people to accept them for their personal use. For people to have a positive perception of robots in their household, the perception of robots needs to change. I believe the home care robot should take on the attributes of a household helper and pet, and in a way be perceived to be part of the family. A recent Study at MIT, Boston concluded positively on the effects of robot language level on children’s language learning. A Summary of the Boston Study results is presented in Appendix I to this IM.
Increasingly, there is an exponential growth in demand for home tutors for the teaching of English in China, South Korea, and the ASEAN region. Most parents want their children to learn English, especially in Asia and will spend significant amounts for English Tutors, for example, up to SGD 5,500 per annum in Singapore or up to RMB 4,000 per month in China per family.
These demands cannot be met adequately through qualified English Language Tutors. Singapore, for example, is facing an acute manpower shortage in every area, as well as facing an aging population. The Singapore Government is expanding Kindergartens rapidly across the Country. Shortages in English Language teachers and tutors will continue to grow.
In Malaysia, there is also an increasing recognition of her falling standards in the use of the English Language.
Language experts have advised that to be effective, language learning needs to be a continuous process anytime across a 24/7 timeframe. In this sense, therefore, human English Language Tutors can only be effective partially since they are not available continuously.
Research has shown that “Language is caught not taught”. This means that continuous exposures to the Language is very critical, but parents at home are not always able to speak to their children effectively in English, as they are themselves often not conversant with the English Language.
Robotic Character Solution’s real value is that it can provide a non-stop 24/7 learning platform for the child on a personal level, and in the same process, in our case, our robotic solution can also continuously learn about the child that it interacts with.
On the other hand, with aging populations in many Countries around the world, there is another need. A need for home companionship and home nursing care is also increasing rapidly. Qualified Manpower shortages in many of these Countries mean that alternative solutions need to be developed and put in place soon.

The World's First Interactive Artificial Intelligent Character
To Enhance a Child's Learning Experience
And
Assist a Parent or Teacher
A.I.PHA (Pronounced as Alpha)
Alpha is a unique Character Robot with an engaging personality. Alphas purpose is to be a constant Personal Robot Friend that a child can converse with natural, one on one or in a group.
Alpha will be a special companion to a child at home, to aid parents in communicating and exposing their growing child to the English language. Alpha has been designed to be a constant language role model - especially where parents do not have a strong grasp of English. Alpha will perform all the language skills needed - reading stories, reciting poems, playing with language and singing songs. Alpha will become an essential assistant to the Parents at home in building a strong language foundation for their children. With Alpha, the child will spend significantly less time watching TV and playing.
Language learning has to be 24/7 and become second nature. Alpha as buddy serves that purpose with daily conversations, storytelling etc in good grammar

Overview
The following brief concept and vision I have regarding the incorporation of The Alpha Robot System into a network of Television Broadcast studios which may also include an on-line Internet Educational Program course.
This is a unique and groundbreaking idea in which the Alpha Robot and A. I. The conversational system can be integrated into a network media with programs and content that enable children to interact “By” –“Through” or “With” the Alpha Robot with a pre-programmed course from a Broadcast and ALSO interact and communicate with Classmates if so choosing in real-time.
This concept and method have some sophistication involve but not so complicated or requiring any new development. The real magic comes from the creative use of the existing technology.
The primary reason for publicizing Alpha through a broadcast network is first and foremost Promotion of the Alpha character. The Alpha robot and its A. I. system include much another product line of the Licensable Characters. Alpha’s personality is derived from its background story. The exposure of Alpha the Character prior to the release of the product commercially will allow the public (and children) familiar of the character Alpha and the personality. Revenue stream could be generated by subscription and membership as well as other merchandising.

The Character and the Background story
This is the basic theme and philosophy behind the whole Idea of Alpha and in the story written about it… you can see it as a modern-day “Pinocchio”. I use the slogan Alpha is brought from the 2d into the 3d world. The Primary reason Alpha is a Character rather than a humanoid “Robot” is that we are focused on the purpose of the machine to function as a solution while creating an imaginary design that would be believable for what it is capable of based the design on only its capabilities.. There are no arms on Alpha became robotic arm are too complicated and to sophisticated to be of any commercial use. The look of Alpha is base on its ability to make Facial Expressions and to communication with some sense of emotion.
The story of Alpha based on themes similar to the novel the ET, Wizard of Oz and Pinocchio also with some original themes developed by myself.
Alpha basically is a machine searching for knowledge and as such in the story learns and discovers himself with new friends. This is the bases of the personality the actual Alpha Robot and it with this personality and ability to learn with the child or child make the concept on how robots are used to “Teach” children... CreatureBots believes a Robot cannot teach a Child. The Mother or Teacher must always be in the loop”
